New Ways to Support City

I'd like to start this thread to open the discussion about the possibility of introducing new ways to support city.
chants, inflatables, and the poznan are all fine but i think the level city is reaching should be matched by a level of support not seen yet in the english football.

I am sure you have seen this happening in other countries and not only in football, and this video is just an example to illustrate the idea.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqtark78jCA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqtark78jCA</a>

All for it mate I really am but anything like this the club are all over it like flies round shit printing tshirts and that, just marketing it and making it as cheesy as possible. if this could be replicated every other week in the away end we'd be onto a winner for sure

am not sure if city management has ever been approached to discuss such ideas, but i dont see why the club would not want to bear some of the cost.

You want to have a chat with City for Life. He has similar ideas. He was behind getting the tickertape going during the derby game. You may have seen the recent thread about a similar idea for our European games.

Tickertape thread:

Ultras thread:

Isn't the Blue Alliance doing this?

They do something similar but its a minority. The more people that get involved the more spectacular it will look. Thus why ideas are being suggested on here.

i actually did not know about city alliance working on this, but from what we ve seen so far we are just average if we compare to the level of support in the video above. our reference should not be the other clubs in the PL no more. we need to aim higher and higher...

city, as a club, has invested at all levels from infrastructure, academy, management, players, etc. And I am sure they would be willing to put some money to promote further the ambiance during the games.

Three words:

Health, and, safety

[*]safe standing needs to be introduced, this instantly changes the atmosphere as it will be easier to stand with your mates

[*]accessible public transport options will also increase atmosphere as people will leave their cars behind and have a drink (or two)... The Tram stop is coming soon

[*]Crowd Control... Not in the ShowSec sense, but the Lech Poznan sense. When they came over they had what you would describe as a main choreographer stood at the front of them all giving out orders like the fans were his soldiers, using a portable tannoy.
This would work, but we need someone to do this. Yes someone on here said they would do this, and bought a tannoy but I've never seen/heard it yet.

[*]The Football/Entertainment devide...... I can watch many other sports, consume alcohol whilst in the stands yet at football I can't. by the way I don't drink tbh but a merry crowd is far more noticeable than a sober one.
I can watch music events at MEN Arena, again get drunk, many others around me consuming cocaine in the toilets (and the artists onstage also at it)
I can even go to the event on a coach and consume alcohol.

At Football.... We can not.

This is why.

Thats true mate but you have to convince fans to play their part. If you look at the Ultras thread above and the Tickertape thread people have ideas but actually coming up with ideas is an altogether different thing to carrying them out.

Stuff with multiple Firecrackers involved just won't take off in this country. For H+S reasons and quite frankly I'm glad.

Traditional British support is based around creating a good atmosphere vocally not visually.

hahah have you seen the smoke at 3:08, our refs would delay the game, safety stewards would kick everyone out, fire brigade would want the south stand cleared out.

Sadly, though that bit looked brilliant, you can rule out flares anywhere in the UK.

Theres no reason why it cant be both. I'm not suggesting that means loads of flares or firecrackers. Flags, banners, tickertape all add to it.

They use all sorts though. Granted flares look the most spectacular but you can still make a visual spectical without them. Look at what Aris achieved when they came here.

you got a point, but i am not sure i agree completely. take a look at this derby from morocco where alcohol is normally prohibited.

Take a look in our own stadium. Aris and Lech both showed what could be done.

I personally think draped looks good. The only issue with that is being allowed to without covering advertising. Have a chat with a steward near where you sit.
