People dont want to say it, but Fernandinho has given away one if the dumbest fouls you will ever see at the end there. Taking out a guy who had lost the ball and was running out of play with loads of defenders back in the box.

He should have been sent off for it, it cost us the game in the end.

Mendy miscontrolling an easy ball led to their free kick. He dropped 0/10. Never seen the likes of it from a player.

How slow was Rodri to get out to Shelvey? Stunning strike but he had so much time to pick his spot.

Not reinforcing properly in the Summer was fucking criminal.

Not a single cross reached a City player. All blasted in the air. We can't win any trophies with Mendy in his present condition. You can't play a player who is 60 per cent below the level required. It's not his fault. He has been crippled by injury and looking at him this season his top level career must be under threat. Angelino is not the answer so we have to buy in January. Our problem on the left side affects the entire balance of the team and is the main reason why we have struggled to break down teams this year. There are other issues but, for me, this is far and away our biggest problem.

It's happened before after title winning seasons where we have been abysmal so perhaps it's no great surprise. Lacklustre recruitment in the last two summers has caught up with us.

There is no part of our game that is functioning currently so even though defensively we are dreadful the midfield & attack aren't compensating for this huge deficiency.

Now it’s gone, time to use the Premier league games as development for our future. We should go all in for the cups. There’s a great opportunity to blood Garcia, Foden et al and give them plenty of minutes in ‘proper’ games . We can even look at new ways of play to help us in our post David Silva/ Fernandinho days. We can then have a massive tilt at it next year......come on Leicester.
