This game is huge in the context of at least for 24 hrs putting pressure on the scousers,a win unfortunately is essential and I couldn’t care less if it’s a last minute og three points and crank the pressure on them ...

Struggled last season in a rare off day up north. No reason to not start the match with our strongest possible team try and obtain a decent lead and sub when necessary then hope leicester think they are playing us ,thus throwing the kitchen sink at them

------------------Ederson
Walker----Stones-----Laporte----Danilo
---------------Fernandinho
-------De Bruyne------Bernardo
Sterling-----------Aguero------------Sane

Strongest team that's available and fit, not sure which Silva to go with, I think Bernardo is a bit sharper at the moment.

Get them dealt with early, an early goal or 2 would be great. Get 1 point behind Liverpool and make them go into their game vs Leicester with a bit of pressure on them.

Pretty spot on...glad it’s Pep that has to decide between the two Silvas, it would give me a sleepless night mulling that one over.

Might sway towards Bernardo for the energy levels he can give (ala the Dippers game) but let’s face it either one will certainly do the business!

Hope the pitch and weather is decent, will make it a long 90 minutes for Newcastle if it is.

3 points and keep up the pressure boys.

It would actually be that much sweeter if their keeper all but put it in their own net in the 94th minute.

Would love to hear the Dipper supporters’ comments about our win then (not that they are ever reasoned and logical).

With David well rested, I reckon he’ll start this one, keeping Bernardo fresh for a monumental effort v Chelsea and Arsenal. I think Jesus is in good enough form to oust Aguero if it was anyone except Newcastle. Sergio and Newcastle go well together.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Danilo
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
Silva
Sterling
Aguero
Sané

No lineup without Ederson in midfield is strong enough to beat Newcastle.

I tend to agree, but we have more difficult games coming up, so keeping him relatively safe from injury by playing him in net seems wise? We can unleash him later. I think we can nick it without him in the middle, maybe off a set-piece or something.

Fair enough. Probably best we save him for the Arsenal match, where Eddie can bully Ramsey and pass around Özil. He’ll likely get two assists and a goal given their depleted defence.

Law of averages would dictate Newcastle beating us at some stage.

We were crap there last year.

Having seen Kev yesterday, pretty hopeful Newcastle will have to wait a little bit longer.

Early goal please, as usual.

This is what worries me too.
