Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just back home to London - thought we had a good noisy crowd today (you don't get any away-day tourists thank god up in the Toon). Nice rendition of 'We never win at home, etc' after Newcastle scored...but their fans were utterly shite - everytime I go to St James, its one of the most overrated home crowds in football.

As for the game - its all been said - Gundo, simply not at the races, and yes, Pep will need to do some reconfiguration post-Rodders - but please let's stop losing the plot...

One of the worst games ive seen gundogan play, he had 2-3 excellent chances to put Haaland through in the first half and messed them up big time.Hopefully other top 4 teams will also drop some points this weekend.
Gundogan has had better days where his performance resulted in trophys.
Wether other teams drop points this weekend or not, the season ends in May.

Rodders injured
No backup for Haaland
Kev ageing and injury prone
Doku showing little sign of improvement
Gundo not fitting back in as first expected
Scant transfer market activity inwards
Arsenal looking strong again, possibly stronger

I'm comfortable knowing this season won't be a fifth title in a row. Four was brilliant, though.
Can you tell me which lottery numbers to pick?

Read one page of this bollox. That’s enough! Jesus Christ we have a fucking awful brand of fans coming through. Today was a decent point all things considered. We ALWAYS have a little run in a season when we don’t win for three games. Like clockwork. Our fixtures are kind for 3 or 4 weeks now. Stop worrying and being entitled twats like those over the road. Gundo was awful today. We have been 3 up of he’d have been on it at all. It happens in real life football. We’re still miles better than anyone else even without Kev and Rodders
This place is seriously embarrassing.
If we don’t win 5 in a row we are shit.
I give up.

I hoped everyone’s irreplaceable Gundo would be slightly better than this. And must-starter Lewis was invisible - which is a compliment comparing to Gundo. Akanji is a liability when we are under pressure. Doku is predictable with his unpredictable dribble to nowhere every single time. Others are pretty good especially Jack.

These days I feel a bit disappointed when we haven’t won. I think, somehow, my brain has forgotten the days of Frank Clarke, Alan Ball, Stuart Pierce et al. It must be disappointment in the display rather the result and that penalty. That was a dive, his foot hit the turf not Ederson. Let’s hope we’re back to our free flowing football sooner rather than later.
Yeah, win at home and get a point away used to be the mantra, averaging two points a game!
That would guarantee top 4 … but obviously we’re aiming higher nowadays ;-)
