A tough loss to take. We should have scored more, we also gave up too many big chances.

Just not good enough against any decent team away from home.

That being said, the officials were a mess today, how he didn't give us a penalty today I do not know. For me the foul on Foden is absolutely blatant and a huge game changer.

yeah we aren't winning the title like this i'm afraid

edit : what i mean to say is that when you're already chasing arsenal 6 points behind the last thing you need for a title change is to lose the next game. we need to go on a run and we just don't seem to be able to do that at the moment. Even a draw would have been something.

Check that ref’s bank account. Cheating ****.

Two stonewall penalties. The first one is a little subjective but the second one is literally letter of the law which has been ignored by both the referee and then by the VAR which is there solely to rectify errors made by the referee. I’d be having serious fucking words if I was Pep and I hope he mentions it in the post-match press barrage.

Yes we should take our chances but it doesn’t help when the letter of the law is not followed.

How Tonali wasn’t booked too is bewildering and is genuinely concerning from the referee. That’s either simply cheating or being an inept ****. Or both. Either way it was shocking officiating all day. I’m sure we somehow came away with more cards than they did..?!

Also, their second goal, they’re saying Dias’s ARM kept him onside. Since when is that a body part (it’s not FYI) used in offside decisions?! Absolute bollocks.

The officiating was an absolute fucking disgrace!!!

One clear pen, raised left hand in unnatural position. Foden's foot stamped on a fraction before he struck the ball, possible pen.

Linesman should have flagged before they scored second as they were at least 6" offside. Both replays afterwards showed it was clearly offside. 5 mins later they simulated it with AI technology to try and justify it wasn't a pen which was absolute contrived bollocks.

The PL want Arse n' hole to win the league this season because they hate us with a passion!

VAR is bent beyond belief and it has cost us yet again!

Fuming! : (

Tough place to play straight out of a break, but still a disappointing performance.

Why is Pep shoehorning Cherki into the starting lineup? Versus the most physical midfield in the league, no less. What happened to players earning a starting spot?

It was going to take something a bit special to win the league before today; I fear today might take us out completely.

You know who we really really missed today?

Rodri.

Gonzalez has been brilliant recently but that was the ultimate 'we're really missing Rodri' game.

No control in the middle of the pitch and no one linking up the play from the back to the rest of the team.

Gonzalez was invisible for the whole second half to the point I forgot he was playing and you just can't afford to have a game like that in that position, especially away from home.

Obviously he isn’t totally to blame for that defeat and others were arguably worse including Phil Foden and Cherki who did no where near enough. Those misses were also totally unacceptable.

These tough away games really show you where you're at as a team and it's blatantly obvious we're not ready to win the title again. We need a top class right winger, Rodri back, and a great no.8 as well.
