Newcastle United (A) - Post-Match Thread

Good easy result
Despite that Bill Leslie commentary
I didn't know he was a cheerleader for Newcastle
Just another Tyler

You don’t have to be in control of the ball for it to be a penalty. The ball doesn’t even need to be anywhere near the incident
Give it a rest. So many times goalkeepers come to claim a ball and it is taken away from them beforehand by a defender.

If that was a cross coming in and Cancelo headed it away, as Ederson comes to collect clattering the oppposition player In the process, would you see it given as a penalty? It never happens, because it isn't a turning point in the game.

It's a pity that $ky had to keep talking shit, apparently us and Newcastle have owners from the other side of the world!

Great 3rd goal spoilt in some respects by the linesman and var. Its those goals you want to marvel at rather than spend 2 minutes waiting for a decision.

Manchester City
Riyad Mahrez, who scored his 50th goal for Manchester City, told Sky Sports: "It's not bad, as long as it helps the team win games, that's the most important thing.
"I was quite sure I was onside as I saw the defender running with me so I didn't think I was offside.
"Every game is a battle. It's always good to score early in the game and that's what we did. Overall it was a good game and we deserved to win."

There seems to be something so different to us even compared to a few seasons ago where teams just sat in and we struggled too score. It feels like pep has come up with an answer to this. We may not be the swashbuckling side of sane Aguero and Sterling but we seem so much more in control and more options. Long may it continue.
What a team and what a club.
