Loving this and hope it happens!

Already boiling the piss out of the usual suspects on twitter.

I would love to see how they go about buying players and who they go for, I always found that so fun when we were just getting started; The Robinho's, Bellamy, Tevez, Wayne Bridges of the world.

Agreed. Bring it on I say.

Just need to find the time to read Rag Cafe, bound to be comedy gold.

It will be interesting if they handle the PR better than us. I notice that in today's coverage most outlets made a point of stressing that the PIF was separate to the Saudi state. That suggests to me the media have had a briefing to ensure accuracy.
We got slaughtered from day one with false claims we had been bought by the soverign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi. That lie has remained out there for 13 years and certain reporters continue to claim City are "state-owned." I believe Newcastle will be much more proactive than we have been in protecting their reputation.
I think the initially guache and arrogant statements from Sulaiman Al-Fahim about hoovering up the best players in the world with a blank chequebook were unfortunate, played into the “irresponsible Arab plaything” myth and caused untold damage to ADUG’s reputation which continues to this day, even though he was given the boot fairly sharpish and replaced with Khaldoon

i believe it won't be shopping Tier 1 players.
They would be like us going after Tier 2 and paying over the odds and big fees .....
players like coutinho, dembele, solid premier league players mixed in....should be interesting nonetheless.

Media, going on about PIF being the biggest fund, QSI being second and us now being 3rd richest as privately owned by S. Mansour, i mean what the hell does that matter....all these football clubs are drop in the ocean in terms of investment for these folks offcourse from branding and marketing it pays big dividends.

But it aint like if we are bidding 100Million for a player the PIF will come in and bid 200Million and we cant match them.....plus there is FFP they will be hand tied and will have to take it slowly....will take a few years.

They should invest in training facilities and stadium to attract better quality player long term.
CFG also provide consultant services, i wouldn't be surprised if PIF reach as there is close collab between UAE and Saudis ....and they naturally would want to know key learning we've picked up and pay for those consultancies....

You might be right. The UAE has been diversifying in to sport a lot longer than the Saudis, they know what they're doing, the Saudis don't.

So the brand "United" globally would no longer represent one football club. I'll take that.

It’s been hilarious this morning up here in Newcastle they think they are winning the league next season
So did we when Mansour took over. We of all fans should know how Newcastle fans feel right now.

It‘s probably good for competition in the top of the PL anyways, if they can run the club as decent as Mansour. And it might take the media hunting in the north east.

Anyone feel the PL is turning into a rich man battle with a few Americans and a few Arabs? If it hadn‘t already?

its always been a rich mans battle, it just who the rich men are that has changed

The SKY 4's only hope now in the fans of Amnesty International, the barcodes should be expecting story after story of human rights abuse stories and they need to hunker down and get used to it quickly.

I'm waiting for the reports of meetings in hotels between the vultures and the FA and PL representatives to try to hamstring Newcastle before they get out of the blocks.

Great days ;)

I have been reading the forums about this and aside from your usual dippers and rags people seem pretty OK with them challenging the Sky 6, aside from your usual bedwetters making it about this or that. Good to see that the media's racist attacks have been somewhat ineffective

From what I've heard, don't think this will be similar to our takeover at all. Sounds like they want to put money into the academy and stadium improvements rather than the transfer budget. Sure there'll be a few new additions but I don't expect anything on the level of the names we signed early on.
