I was just watching Goater's 100th goal and it made me wonder, who do we think will be our next player to 100 goals for the club?

I think it will be Ireland in the current squad, unless we sign someone else.

No way. It'll be a striker.

Mostly likely i would say is Tevez.

If Tevez kept his current goal scoring ratio for us he's have to play 160 more matches. Realistically, once we get into the champions league, you can see our main players playing over 50 matches a season, if he sticks here for another 3 or 4 years, could be him.

You're probably right to be honest, I mainly went for Ireland because I think hes most likely. He'll need about 8 goals a season for the rest of his career and I think when he peaks he'll be hitting 15 a season minimum especially if like you say hes playing 50 games a season.

Wright Phillips has a good chance, he scores often enough

He would need to score about 65 goals in the next 5 years or so. If it wasn't for the Chelsea move maybe.

In my 41 years as a Fan nobody has come into the City team and scored a 100 League Goals.

In 1968; Bell,Lee and Neil Young were established and they all did it.

Since then Tueart and the Goat have scored a 100 plus for the Club but they did not quite reach a 100 in the League.

This as much as anything is an indictment of how crap we have been for most of that time.

No Club spunks Money on useless forwards like we do. Try making a list of them and you will be doing it forever or forget one of them.

Happily Mark Hughes and the Riches bestowed on him may have put a stop to this trend. Which hopefully Bobby Manc can continue.

I will be very happy if Robbie,SWP, Adebayor, Ireland, Bellamy etc can get to 50.

So, I'm going to put my neck on the line and predict Sergio will be next to 100 league goals....! (Just found this thread when I was trying to find out who our last player was to score 100 league goals!)....

But I wonder if anyone else in the current squad has a chance to make it... Kelechi, maybe.... or Raheem?

And how many will Sergio get before he hangs up his metaphorical light-blue boots...?

If we're going to win the league, Sergio will probably do it this season. Given his age, Sterling will not of fulfilled his potential if he doesn't reach 100 goals for City

if he stays long enough KDB will get close, he's in the lampard mould for scoring

Not likely.

I'm assuming we are talking league goals here, as Sergio already has 120 goals for us.

Kev is a 10 goal/season player in the league.

He's joined us at 24, so unless he keeps going at his best until he's about 35 (unlikely) he won't reach a century.
