There's a bloke near me that was targeted by these scammers. Over the years despite people warning him, he handed over a fortune. In one con he thought he was buying one of those Easter Island statues, so he handed over 80 million to a bloke in Leicester.

Easily done.

Had the NHS text awhile back myself. Never ever click on links in texts & emails, if you think you need to contact them, then look up the contact details yourself, paying attention to what the search brings up. I've had customers who have phoned up trying to claim £40 & £50 a pop because they've used some online company who put you through to every company under the sun but at premium rates. There's arseholes galore out there just waiting to part you from your money.

just checked and can confirm mine was a scam with this address

nhs.test-kits-delivery.com/nhs

question is why did this stack up on messages from my gp which I know were genuine???
It shouldn't have been from the same number if that's what you mean. Does your phone categorise messages in some way?

Mine was https://per-home-test.com but it was automatically blocked as spam (Sky mobile) a couple of weeks back.

its an iphone, messages are grouped together from the same number, in this case this is the third message in the group, the other 2 being confirmation of appointments, the message sender is NHS-NoReply no number given.

Perhaps they spoofed their number so it appears under the same group? It may be a "feature" of the Apple iMessage Groups? I've always been Android myself so not 100% at all.

I got a letter from Very.co.uk telling me that some c*nts opened an account using my details and they suspect it’s idenity theft. Got to ring them this morning to confirm their suspicions. Not had the omicron text yet but apparently there are arrest warrants out for my non payment of tax. At least that’s what the voice messages said on the answer phone

Well, the smart arse lobby can take comfort from their not being "old and vulnerable". Wait till you get a text from NHS-NoReply and that comes on your phone as the same "contact" name as you get notice of appointments from your GP.

The bank said it's fooling a lot.

Sounds like a deliberate tactic to create a surge of anxiety and then hit you when you are vulnerable.

The gambling industry uses similar techniques to illicit a less rational and more instinctive response on fixed odds betting machines and online platforms.

Only silly people think that it is only grannies that can get scammed.

exactly what I got, I'm pretty tech savvy, suspicious by nature and it had me in 2 minds as to whether it was a scam or not
