I don't hate him, mate. Not by a long chalk. I just think he's too much of a liability when we're under the cosh. Not quick enough and some of his decision making is nowhere near good enough. He can have absolute worldies so he's no dud. For a team like ours though who are often countered he isn't somebody who I have faith in. You can back him to the hilt, as you often do but I won't be changing my mind.

I did not mean to suggest you in particular hated him. But you stated guys in your section would have laughed me off the field. Im guessing so.e of them are likw domalino, can't wait for an error to bite on.

Ha! No I just meant had you said he was decent tonight you'd have been laughed out. It's pretty mixed around me, some think he's quality, some think he's shite - I'm somewhere in the middle.

For an experienced Argie international centre half , that was a disgraceful performance tonight and unexpected because he has been our mist consistent defender this season , hope it was a one off and Pep needs to make Otto aware of his responsibilities he is supposed to be the experienced helping hand for Stones and tonight he was the total opposite.

He was clearly at fault for the second.
Then gave away a pen.
Finally, he left Stones far too isolated from a simple long ball for the third.

But yes, other than that he was ok.

When it was 0-0 he also sold himself completely then dived trying to recover leaving himself on his arse again. I'm afraid he's just not good enough.

I hate to be negative tonight, but Otamendi isnt up to standard, he makes the rest of the defense look bad by getting dragged out of position or going to ground far too easily. He is exactly what Stones doesnt need as a partner as he never knows where he is and gets fuck all assistance, with his defending or vocally. Oh for a fully fit Kompany, we'd never see the beard not to be feared again and Stones would be far far better off.

He is what he is and we're stuck with him until the summer. I would be amazed if he survives the summer cull.

Absolutely awful, I really feel for Stones who is constantly undermined by him diving in and being caught out of position time after time. Can't believe I'd see the day when I thought Kolarov would be a better option at centre half.

Really not sure about him now. Do we really need to replace Kompany, Kolarov and Otamendi? Or just 2 of them? Really feels like we can't get it right with our CB signings. We really don't have any standout CB's.

He has good and bad games and tonight he was in the latter, the lack of consistency is also a problem.

I think tonight's game sealed the need to go and buy a centre half in the summer. Back in for Laporte I reckon.
