Same from me. I think it's fair to say he hasn't been my favourite player, in fact I thought he was dogshit. Pep seems to have sorted him out though and he was immense in the derby.
Otamendi is a warrior.
Many posters believed he wasn't good enough for our club. He was good last season but suffered due to Pellegrini's idea of organizing the defense, if we can even call it that. Every defender would have suffered playing in back of a midfield two of Yaya plus one IMO. Its going to be interesting to see how Kompany will fit into the team. Maybe Otamendi will play RB? He has played there before.
I'm not a fan of the play acting so hopefully he cuts it out.

Absolute boss yesterday.
I love how he times his tackles and snaps into challenges. There was one on granny shagger in the first half that got me on my feet - the bald twat had taken a touch and thought he had time to turn. Nope!! Nico came from behind to get right into him and he hated it!!
For his size he was also brilliant against the living marketing stunt. Beat him for plenty of headers and bossed him on the ground, dispossessing him numerous times.
If he can keep his form up he'll become a huge fan favourite. He loves a derby as well.

Ran through the centre several times, so uncharacteristic that no one knows how to deal with him. Once he delivers a pass to our attacking players he held his hands up to tell others his part was done.
Could have scored a goal too. But then again, he did roll too long one time and bounced back up, so there's that to beat him with. Overall, a very resourceful player in Pep's tactics.

He's stopped diving in/going to ground, that's a major improvement that Pep has made.
You can discuss how the ref could have missed such an obvious call. Something that happens in most games when a blatant penalty is not called.New keeper comes in. First start and it's the Derby. Replaces one of City's favorite players. The focus on Bravo is entirely understandable. Moreover, if everyone agrees that Otters was fouled in the box, what's to discuss, beyond the fact that yes it's a clear penalty missed (which is what the commentators said)?

His playmaking yesterday was ELITE lvl. Surprised me, surprised Pep too, looking at his comments. I think Ota will become top 5 before Stones, under Pep. Never knew the warrior had this cultured armoury under him. Shows how poorly his previous coaches hv tapped this potential. One of the bloody good feelings of watching good football for me is when a CB can playmake and make a decisive 2nd-last pass or assist through a raking ball breaking through the lines of the opposition. Very few teams can actually prepare tactically for this.

Watched the first half again for the second time...masterclass IMO. Everywhere. He was even Bonucciesque with his passing. So happy for nico.
