NME Readers in 2014 voted these the greatest songs ever

Smells like teen spirit not even the best song of the 90s

Number 11. Eleanor Rigby - which is probably the 6th best song off Revolver and certainly not even the 11th best song by The Beatles but Suede's Animal Nitrate as the 33rd best song of all time is quite possibly the hottest/shittest take of all time.

I love the Beatles but can barely listen to Ellanor rugby...

Strange list, great songs. There are just better ones out there going back years, decades even.

If its done by top answers in a poll like survey well i have to except these results. Still.....

I have the one they voted in 2002 as well, not much change but paint it black is at number 2 and at least it has bittersweet symphony in the top 5

Wasn't it a double A side with Penny lane ? ? which is a much better tune for me,only bettered by A day in the life. And a Kinks tribute act gets in front of an absolute Kinks classic! Weird.

What sort of list is that? Where’s classics like Bridge Over Troubled Water? Knocks spots off shite like You look Good on the bleedin‘ dance floor. What pile of poo.

A lot of good stuff in there. Of course, we could argue all day over it, but it’s 100% certain that if this list was done today it would be full of total shite.
I never new Blue Monday was a cover though. Originally done by New Monday apparently!

Fuck this list -- spelling mistakes, for some reason "Heroes" in quotes, and what the fuck band is New Monday?
Agreed with your complaint overall but "Heroes" is in quotation marks in the official title, to be fair.

"Bowie placed the title in quotation marks as an expression of irony on the otherwise romantic or triumphant words and music."

After I wrote that post I wondered that! And you'd figure I know that :) Thanks for that bit of news.

My second favo(u)rite Bowie song after Queen Bitch.
