No more football for me

Had enough of it. It is an English game and it is a physical sport. I don't want half time shows and hand shakes, I want bruises and a physical contest. I also only want to pay £20 maximum per game. Here are reasons it has gone to pot;

1. continental types prancing around and diving
2. not enough piss being thrown
3. cant get drunk at european games
4. too many police, not enough hooligans
5. games changed for tv
6. England should be hosting the world cup, not Russia
7. Qatar is an infection, not a nation to host the world cup
8. Colin Bell doesn't play anymore

They put meat in the pies now

Yeah, horse meat;)

I want people smoking cigars again on the terraces and "you're gonna get you're fucking head kicked in" song brought back.
the days of "you're going home in an ambulance" being sung at the paramedics...
Yeah that's the spirit.

If nobody could eat fifty eggs then I wonder how many they could realistically eat. That could be our new sport

When you put these down as a parody did some actually merge into real gripes?

Haha they actually did. I prepared something in response to the "No more Champions League for me" thread and then realised just how grumpy and absurd I was getting. The World Cup thing does grate on me. I do wish Colin Bell still played! And I genuinely am annoyed at how soft modern footballers can be. The same way that rules dictate red card offences, surely they define a fair challenge?! Kompany going shoulder to shoulder with Messi is an example of the game going bonkers - never a free kick! Unfortunately it is those "tricks" that you have to pick up to succeed at the top level. Kolorov did his fair share of diving last night and Fernandinho played the ball straight off the pitch only to groan and win a free kick! Does my head in! You have to learn to do those things to compete though, if you don't go down you won't win a free kick! England v Chile was a prime example of this, they went down after every single nudge and the game was awful.

Could say the same about football in general.

on the plus side:

the toilets are fantastic now
the quality of the catering is unbelievable and learning a foreign language is fun too
we can all enjoy the vibrant results of the face painting
the concourse fashion displays can be entertaining
there are proven health benefits to being financially forced to drink less
the lack of secondary bong fumes means you have a clearer head to take in the whole match day experience
the half time entertainment doesn't involve bricks and is such fun
being told to keep quiet in the lesser games can help tourettes sufferers come to terms with their illness
the amosphere can still be really really super in some games

I'm sure there are many other pluses so it's not all doom and gloom pal

Bricks can be fun too, imagine lego-themed half time entertainment.
