Westminster Council comments following the Top Gear shenanigans 'near' the cenotaph in London. What a load of crap and Chris Evans Evans' apology FFS!

It was a disgusting thing to do.

You try a stunt like that near a US war memorial and see how long you are in hospital.

Well done Evans for an appropriate and fulsome apology.

Let's just hope it wasn't all just planned for publicity.

But who gave permission in the first place to tear-arse up and down Whitehall in the first place! That strip of highway has umpteen monuments that shouldn't be treated in such a shabby manner!

  4. I doubt Evans had anything to do with it, it's just not his style.

They knew what they were doing and now have the extra publicity and a bit of controversy to start the new show with.

Evidently, this programme's production values are to remain as bullishly obnoxious as they were with the other three public-schoolboy clowns at the helm.

  7. If that's true it's a remarkable departure from the classy show it used to be.

As far as I'm aware they had full permission, having said that I'm outraged.

I'm liking the supposed name for Clarksons new show. Apparently the trademark "Gear knobs" has been registered by his lawyers.

I must be missing something, they filmed a car driving in circles a bit near a memorial? Whats the recommended distance for driving in circles near memorials to cause non-outrage?
