No wonder Mancini flipped when he first came here

Barry, De Jong and Ireland, whilst all good players as individuals, fuck me how have we got to the end of March still in with a chance of finishing 4th with them three as a collective midfield?

That is where the game was won and lost tonight, we got fucked in the arse by Arteta controlling the game for them for the whole 90 mins.

I feel sorry for them as it's not their fault, £14m in Toure, £67m on the strikeforce, our number one target should of been someone who can control the midfield and should be next season.

This is where we will fail against the better teams.

Oh and finally, FUCK OFF EVERTON YOU SCOUSE TWATS. Enjoy your win against us.

I thought Toure was ok today. (dont shoot)
Ireland was shit!
But, everyone else wasnt bad (Johnson, SWP, and Richards all being a bit off)

And, can we please stop going back to the amount we have payed for players. Yes, it is embarassing that other teams can hold it against us, but we have very rich owners - its like paying with play-doh!!!

Btw, today - not bad imo!! referee was diabolical and could have won - you have those games :D

bang on the money IP....we were completly outdone by Arteta and Cahill with the energy of Osman and Pinnear complimenting them we were no where fukin near them!!

Toure is a sack of shite i'm afraid...SWP adious little fellla and Santa Cruz, fuk me?! I don't know where to start. Anyway, onwards we'll fuk them over good 'n proper next season...

Errr can I nit pick a little ??

Chelsea 6 points from 6
Arsenal 3 points from 3
Utd 0 from 3
Liverpool 2 from 6

11 points from 6 games against the big 4 = good effort.

The next best 2, Villa and Spurs we have 1 point from 2 games, but could end up with 7 from 4 games yet.

Everton are not one of the better teams they are spoilers, (like Stoke but far better), good at it of course, but spoilers nontheless, best of luck to them, but thankfully I don't watch them every week.

We've only played badly in one of those games against the rest of the top 7 (but sadly twice against the spoilers).

No it wasn't,we played the way we were set up,we had plenty of possesion & kept men behind the ball.
He wants control & we had control, pointless looking for scapegoats because the next time we win you will be saying how great he is for getting so much more out of the players.
Every challenge he has had set for him he has failed & that's not really his fault because he is trying to play a completely "foreign"game to our players.
If he was so pissed off with the players he had he should have spent money,he had the chance.

If I was manager I'd do my best to sign Yaya Toure and Wesley Sneijder... tho we'd probably need 4th place to entice them (esp. Sneijder)

WIth that said I think we do ok against the top teams... it's the teams whose main strength is their battling and organisational qualities that we tend to struggle against.

I am still struggling to understand how people can say Mancini has failed - he is performing better than all but the top three managers at the moment (I know it seems hard to believe at times but it is a fact!).

No one sells there best players in January, unless you are met with an offer the club can't refuse i.e M'boro getting £8m for Johnson with 6 months on his contract to go.

I would love Arteta at City, he is a class player. However I doubt Everton would do busniess with us after last season.

They are skint though so wave enough money at them and I'll sure they will come round.

Can I point out that in January, bar Johnson (great signing) and Vieira (jury's out, good signing in my book), he tried to buy a playmaker and a box to box midfielder. The fact the deals weren't completed had nothing to do with Mancini.

I'm boring myself now but it's this simple....our midfielders are one-dimensional and quite simply are not good enough. Ireland had another chance tonight and only he will know how bad his injury was.

Arteta, Pieenar and Fellaini would walk in our side and don't even get me started on Huddlestone, Modric, Kranjcar and Milner.

I still think we'll get fourth place but I really want to know when some fans are going to point the finger at the players.

Great post. We also beat Arsenal and United in the cup, to add weight to your agument. All told, against the traditional top 4 in all competitions it's P9 W5 D2 L2. Pretty damn good.

You've got it right, cleavers, that we do better against the teams who come at us to win - the top sides - than the "spoilers"

Sneijder was reluctant to leave Real Madrid for Inter because he thought Inter wasn't a big enough club for him :-)

But he went...

Yes to get playing time with the world cup coming up. So far he is a regular starter in Inter if i am correct.

He is indeed. He's class and I've no doubt that it'd be difficult to pull off (impossible if we're not in the Champs League) but if we buy other top quality players he may be tempted. Of course he'd likely get a pay rise too ;)

To think he asked for a pay raise a couple of weeks back.

It is not their fault, it is the clueless manger who spent over 150 millions to assemble such an unbalanced side and still some on here are defending him...... unbelievable!

There is a fundamental mistake here we don't do badly against the best teams, we have doubled the best midfield in the country, dominated arsenal, been unbeatan by Liverpool and matched united nearly.

We do badly against the likes of everton, stoke, hull and teams who bully us, everton also have quality and that hurts us.

Everton are stable, know their game and are not a bad side.
