North Stand Construction Discussion

I think Kits was the last area. Family of mine are on Level 2 and have slowly been relocated further towards the corner to accommodate UEFA requirements first, then Kits more recently.
At £275+ per game, you can see the business case as to why the club have slowly been extending the corporate areas. It's a fact of life unfortunately.

There's a big market for it, which will grow with the continued decline of the rags. Would you want to go watch them lose at home to Copenhagen whilst eating a pork chop, sat next to a bucket collecting the rain from the leaky roof or come to City and watch the best players in the best facilities? If they club can push it and increase the revenues in order to give back to the rest of the fans that would be an ideal scenario. Sadly we've seen incremental price rises for all fans, although you can appreciate the club thinking it's still fair value considering we're the best team on the planet.

It's a good point with their decline on and off the pitch and their stadium, there will be a growth in those wanting the corperate facilities and the football we can provide.

Yeah you'd still imagine they'd tempt businesses through the fact you'll have some Kent born wankers who support the rags "through thick and thin" but ultimately the corporate types are going to prefer to go where there's good football and decent hospitality and you aren't getting that there!

I'd have thought ,though not being a corporate type not sure, that part of the 'entertainment' for those people is also a decent atmosphere provided by the plebs,as long as the club keep that in mind too and provide good facilities for the rest of us then IMO it''s all good.

Once the North Stand expansion is complete, how about moving the away fans‘ section to the opposite side of the south stand? Most clubs do this so the away fans aren’t visible on televised matches. I get comments from friends who don’t support City that there always seems to be a lot more away support at the Etihad than on other Premier League grounds.

For anybody still with their head in the sand over the demand for semi corporate seats, read the statement by the Livenation CEO last week.

Record profits for Livenation due to the demand and ridiculous ticket pricing ( including surge pricing ) for gigs in the last 12 months. He states their model and performance is based on punters preferring to pay for experiences than material goods.

Replace gigs with football - it’s the same business model.

Whether it’s charging £250 for a Taylor Swift ticket or £250 to watch City v whoever.

Can’t see that happening with the away coach park being where it is and the fact that the prawn sandwich lot won’t want a load of idiot away fans right next to them.

I'd say put them on the bottom tier running from 110-115, similar to arse.

You won't have the the risk of them chucking stuff down on home fans that way. And would require very little change outside with the coach set up.

Would probably assist with club with turning all of L2 into hospitality

Also compare and contrast with US sports events, which I believe can also be $250+ for a ticket. Those entertaining clients aren't arsed about the atmosphere - they want the best facilities, even better if you get the best team in the land as a bi-product.

Really?? BTW what’s a “proper” home end? I’m sure there will be 20,000 different opinions amongst our fans depending on many things such as:

Age

Length of time they’ve been a ST holder ( - 45 years for me & I have very different view of the club to you)

Personality

Etc etc
We are so huge and passionate we have traditionally been a ‘home side’ rather than a ‘home end’ kind of club, same as shuddersfield
