Norton Security 2010 is it any good?

I'm certainly no expert........far from it.
My wife installed it on my laptop for me.
For what it's worth i've never had a problem.
One of the many experts on here tho' probably
know of a better one.

I have always had Nortons down as the worlds first scareware.

Software that scares you into buying it, and will keeps telling you all these wonderful things it does so you keep subscribing.

There are many free alternatives available, if you have a legit copy of Windows, windows security essentials is great or even AVG.

Just go on torrents and get pro AVG or Pro Avast.

If you don't want to do that. Get the free versions of AVAST and AVG

you can download avast or avira for free. No need to pay for antivirus software.

Avira Free AntiVirus Protection is here <a class="postlink" href="http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/av ... virus.html</a>

Avast free antivirus is here <a class="postlink" href="http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download</a>

AVG is also pretty decent.

NOPE

its nigh bloody impossible to uninstall....(bit like AOL) Once installed you'll have to keep buying it or forever close down the reminders that pop up every 10 mins telling you to renew.

Recommend that you don't buy it. I would advise Mcafee really reliable

Use the Norton Removal tool to uninstall Norton products.

I have the file, so if anyone needs it just pm and i can email it to whoever wants it. :)

Yes Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2010 is excellent mate, check this link :

I currently use Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2010 which is very good, albeit the User Interface is a bit of a mess.
I have installed NIS 2010 on a Windows 7 machine recently, and whilst not impressed with the silly yellow background colours, the product is awesome.

From what I've seen / read so far, it looks like Norton have rolled back the years and reclaimed No.1 spot.
When my KIS licence expires I'm tempted to make the switch.
