11am kick off

Saturday 5th April at Norwich. Presume MCFC will be live tweeting as will @MCFC_EDS_ACAD, and then posting their match report on the MCFC Reserves and Academy site on Bluemoon

This seems to be our game in hand on Everton, who don't play again until the 19th and could see us pull away at the top of the Northern section to 3 points clear.

Norwich seem to be struggling recently with only one win in their last 5 games seeing them sit happily midtable in the Southern section. The U18 rules say that everybody in the Northern section plays each other twice and they only play the Southern section once, so this is our first time meeting Norwich this season. They are managed by former Oldham favourite Neil Adams if anybody remembers him?

With only four games left to go in the league section and City expecting a win here, let's hope for a big performance from the young lads tomorrow. Brandon Barker tweeted that he's available to play after an ankle injury and in the squad and with the spotlight shining on Ambrose's scoring tally recently and his stated desire to reach 25 goals this term, could be a cracker.

U18S TEAM TO FACE NORWICH: O'Brien, Oliver, Oseni, Adarabioyo, Smith-Brown, Byrne, Celina, Boadu, Intima, Ambrose, Barker.

U18S SUBS: Albinson, Maffeo, Holland, Samuelson, Nemane.

City aren't live tweeting, the bastards. Sat there for ages waiting for "score updates" and they didn't bother. Luckily Norwich's Twitter are on the ball

U18s: 25' Goal for Man City. Brandon Barker is released down the left and he finishes well with a shot across Killip. #NCFC 0-1 #MCFC

First game back after an injury and a goal for Barker. Well done lad.

U18s: HALF-TIME: Norwich City 0-1 Manchester City. Brandon Barker with @MCFC's goal. Oli Cole closest for #NCFC. #BU18PL

Half time and I have no idea how we're playing. It's like Teletext all over again.

U18s: 77' Goal for Man City. Ben Burgess' pass is intercepted by Brandon Barker, who scores his and @MCFC's second. #NCFC 0-2 #MCFC #BU18PL

Another one for Barker. Sounds like he's having a good time out there.

U18s: 79' Goal for Man City. Thierry Ambrose smashes home at the back post to extend @MCFC's lead. #NCFC 0-3 #MCFC #BU18PL

And the rout begins. Think that's Ambrose's 20th of the season so far.

U18s: FULL-TIME: Norwich City 0-3 Manchester City. League leaders @MCFC win comfortably here at Colney. #BU18PL

What do you think about Barker's future ? He will be our Sterling ?

I've only seen him a limited number of times but I was impressed enough, though he is very direct. I asked the lads who write the match reports on the Academy section of the site and they said:

If you watched him like we do you can see that if he can develop & improve to make his final balls top class he's got a great chance [of getting into the first team]

All over in Norwich, 2 goals for Barker on his return and Ambrose's 20th of the season gives City breathing room at the top of the league, moving three points clear of Everton on the same games with 4 to play in this stage
