Not coming in the Top 4 - it's ok!!

I realise I'm in a small minority but for me he's still not shown he has the skills to succeed in England with a club like City. His fans might say well of course he hasn't because he's never had to do that but that makes it a big gamble back in 2013 to base the whole future of your club on a skillset he may or may not have.

What he did at Barca was to mould the 2nd biggest club in the world, with all the advantages that entails, around a genius - we don't have a genius to build around and we're not even the 2nd biggest club in England.

Bayern are uber dominant and each summer poach their rivals' best players so winning the league there doesn't mark him out as outstanding. Both full CL campaigns he's overseen there have ended in comprehensive humblings by top teams. So what's he added ? Pretty football. Most passes in a game ever. Most possession ever. Not when it counted in Europe though.

Tiki taka doesn't work in England namely Arsenal. Why should it work at City with slightly better players ?
Read Pep Confidential. Pep doesn't play tiki takka. In fact he refers to it as "shit". Bayern don't play that way and neither will City

Yeah sure he doesn't..fact is without CL football any big name will not even listen to any offers.

SO IT IS A MUST

firstly i think City can attract some big name players if we're not in the CL next season, not the biggest maybe but some really decent players nonetheless.

but i dont think City need to attract the big big players next season (if we finish out of the top 4 i mean). If we have Aguero, De Bruyne, Nasri, Silva (rejuvenated), Sterling, Fernandinho, Kompany, Denayer, Hart and Clichy, along with half a dozen players from Pep's networks that he knows will put in a shift and do what he says, then i think top 4 will be no problem.

then we're back in the CL and the problems are gone, the big players are coming.

i just dont see the big shit storm that many seem to.

(honestly, players grafting and following instructions can make up for an awful lot in football)

When we signed what still is the core of our first 11 we were not in the champions league(bar Aguero). These players actually wanted to come to City and create something,if missing out on the top 4 means Pogba or whoever chooses to go elsewhere then it's fine by me. Get players in who actually WANT to be here. Build a new team around those players and we will probably be better off long term.
