Not coming in the Top 4 - it's ok!!

I'm not an accountant. I don't really care about revenue streams.

We have enough money to buy any player in the world. Therefore revenue streams are irrelevant to me.
But they are relevant to United. This is a god send to them, they can't believe it.

This is it. Is a player like Paul Pogba likely to want to drop down to the Europa League at this stage of is career? We've got Pep, who is an asset in recruiting players, but not being in the champions league is a huge blow.

did many a club this season not prove that there are plenty more fish in the sea than the most desired/valued player for each position?

and atletico madrid have a good history of selling top players and recruiting slightly less known ones (one or two excluded) and still reach champions league finals and challenge for the title.

I don't agree with the argument that we only get pep for 3-4 seasons so we're potentially a year behind schedule. I think that if guardiola works out then he'll stay til he's done a job for us.. I.e. Significant progress in champs league, great squad, developed youth. So it might just mean he stays for an extra year to get it done

We do... but as we have already seen, that doesn't mean WE CAN sign any player in the world, and like it or not the players Pep will want to bring in will be put off by the lack of CL footy next season.
And the £75mil we lose out on is almost enough to buy Pogba!
Just typical really - get the most sought after manager in the world, and end up finishing outside the top 4 - most likely anyway!

The revenue streams won't stop us buying any player. It would be up to the player to want to come and the EL would be a setback in that regard. The Pep factor might make that irrelevant though. Only time will tell if we do miss out.

Have you heard of FFP? It's very popular, especially when it comes to us. And since we'll still be in Europe, it still applies, but we'll have less prize money, less from ticket sales, probably less from sponsorships. So no, whilst we'll have enough money to buy who we want this season, we'd have to be careful with the accounts the following season when it hits, so chances are our total outlay will have to change.

And that's assuming not being in the CL doesn't put some targets off

The good news is that apart from Aguero, we signed our best players when we were not in the Champions League. ( Yaya, Tevez & Silva )

The bad news is we don't have Gary Cook now to do it again.

FFP is pretty much dead in the water and the new TV money will likely more than offset the losses caused by missing out of the CL.

FFP didn't exist then, was much easier for Cook to spunk money

Apart from all the other PL teams get exactly the same TV money as we do, but Arse, Spurs, potentially rags and Liverpool will get CL money as well. Brilliant business plan
