Not Match Fit!

Correct me if I am wrong, we have a starting eleven with seven subs, and very rarely do these seven subs get to play much competitive football! Just a few minutes here and there! Would it make sense to let them play for the reserves to gain some match practise?

From what I see, we have two reserve sides, one given over to the kids out of the academy, and the other ? We have more players than can be fitted into the teams available. But I have often wondered why those on the periphery of the first team, the bench, don't get more games in the reserves, not just when they are coming back from injury.
