Nottingham Forest Thread - 2022/23

I think Cooper has played a blinder there and pulled a back me or sack me ultimatum and got himself a big pay out when they sack him.

So much for him being the favourite for the next manager to get sacked. Which can, of course, still happen. Contracts mean diddly these days (just a big pay day if he does get the boot). It just makes it less likely that he'll be the next one out on his ear.

I think they would be mad to sack him. Did a fantastic job last year to lift them from near the bottom to promotion. He had little choice but to buy reinforcements as so many were leaving. Might pick up soon.

Just read an article on Forest, basically about Lingard...

"The 29-year-old had just 16 touches of the ball, completed only 11 passes, had no shots on goal, made no key passes, no crosses and lost 100% of his duels over the 86-minute performance at the AMEX Stadium on Tuesday night."

The reporter making the case for starting another fella with bettr stats...

"Awoniyi has scored two goals, taken 1.1 shots on goal and won 1.3 duels per game, despite only being given an average of 39 minutes per match and four starts. Meanwhile, Lingard, who averages 67 minutes per game has offered zero goal contributions so far."

That is pretty poor from Cooper tbh and if he gets sacked he is only going to have himself to blame. If he wanted Lingard then you have to question his judge of character and ability. He has shown nothing at all to be above this other lad but still gets the nod ahead of him for some reason i can't discern looking at the stats. Personally i think he deserves more time to sort it but if he did get the boot i can fully understand why.

Lingard has been the same player for 5 years except for a 16 game period. Stupid signing, and it's fair to say their fans agree.

Watched the game yesterday. Quite like forest and have some decent players. Still can’t get my head round them taking lodi.

Lingard to me looks like he thinks he’s above playing for Forest. Ambling about and throwing his arms up. The forward looks a handful. Gibbs -white is tidy on the ball.

Henderson just seems a Pickford lite. Terrible kicking and technique. Seems hyped all the time and thinks he’s better than he is.

Going to sound harsh but that save from van dyke was a save he should be making. No way is it some wonder save some are making out. Decent stop but one he should be making.
