Nottingham Forest Thread - 2022/23

Spent way too much, way too soon without too much thought or plan behind it imo.

Will end in tears.
Couple of saving graces for them:
- Steve Cooper is a decent manager.
- There are some shit teams in this league.

Otherwise I agree, they'll finish between 16th-18th for me.

I hope they go down. Their supporters are some of the vilest individuals I've ever encountered in football. I witnessed a 30 odd year old bloke throw a bottle at a couple of City shirted teenagers minding their own business last time I was in their hovel. Brian Horton in charge. We got verbally and physically abused all the way from Trent Bridge to the ground. And that away end might look flashy on the TV but that day it was a fetid mess inside with the whole concourse under about 3 inches of brown 'water'.
The last time I went to Forest was the cup match in January 1978, which had been rearranged from the Saturday due to a flooded pitch. I went on a Maynes' coach, and when it parked up, the coach was attacked by a gang of their nutters, led by a lad with a mohawk haircut, their ringleader, who was armed with a baseball bat!
Unfortunately (for him), the first off the coach was Les Tait. When the police arrived, the lad was in a large pool of water crying his eyes out, with Les's foot holding him down . The bat was nowhere to be seen. Clearly a case of self defence!

I think they have decided that they needed to go for the scattergun approach because of the championship quality of their promotion winning squad.

They have even sold their keeper who made 40 appearances last season. Most promoted teams usually keep them as number 2 at least.
