Torres being interviewed today said:

"Manchester City is not the right team for Kaka. Seriously, how can they pay £100million for Kaka?" The Daily Mail quotes the Spaniard as rhetorically asking.

"Manchester City must first play UEFA Cup or Champions League football because I cannot see how any big player would want to play for them until then. Big players want to win trophies and Manchester City is not even in the race for trophies in England, let alone Europe. They are fighting to stay in the Premier League, or to get to the middle of the table».

Does the idiot not even know we are already in the UEFA Cup. The criticism of City in the media over the Kaka deal is getting out of control....it seems to be City against the world and now I really, really, really hope he signs for us.

let him know we'll buy him and he'll be happy again.

Hope people are seeing the "come and get me" pattern from the big names

Because we are fucking loaded!

Unfortunately, the comments of yet another ignoramus who certainly isn't entitled to make such derisory remarks towards one of this country's greatest football clubs. He appears to be one of an increasing number of players, who have come from overseas, who believe that the only clubs that have ever existed here are the current incumbents of the Champions League places - all the other clubs have recently been formed just to make up the numbers for a domestic league and nothing else.

Hear hear!

I am sick and tired of hearing of the 'big four', which i have an argument with on a number of fronts

a. it's only in recent times when you could consider Chelsea and Arsenal members of this 'elite' club?
b. do we really want the status quo?? I for one am thankful for Aston Villa's efforts thus far this season (incidientally the London clubs that I mention above have NEVER won the European Cup as both Villa and Forest did)

I apologise now if it doesn't make sense as had a drink or two but it doesn't half wind me up, how do you make history if you're not allowed to, do we want the same old teams being in a position to win all the time??? God, I'm getting more n more wound up the more I think about his ridiculous argument!

To be fair to Torres, he is probably talking about next season where we are extremely unlikely to be in Europe. As for this season, then Kaka will be cup tied so he cant play for us.

Shame on us.

I really do feel depressed.....about Kaka.....joining City.......YYYeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Erm, if it happens.
