Mate, City have been perfectly planning for over a decade.

If people actually think this I don't know what to say.

We spent 10 years positioning ourselves to get Messi, then ignored him the 1 year he was available to sign Harry Kane, who we didn't sign. Does that sound like perfect planning to you?

If we'd gone into the window only wanting Grealish, I would have been fine.

The problem is very publicly going after targets and very publicly failing.

any french members? how is the domestic media towards PSG?

I cannot imagine the amount of shit we would get for the window PSG just having. i like how they dont give a shit, they do not try to be "loved" & accepted by rivals neither domestic level or CL level.

I wonder if French media is giving them as much vitriol tho.
This is exactly our issue.. We are a tool to promote Abu Dhabi and as such they don’t want the state linked to negativity. PSG on the other hand don’t care, they go balls deep to show Qatar dominance.
If City as a club and the Sheikh as an owner truly want to dominate European football then they need a nasty streak and need to take on the likes of PSG, Real, Barça.. We can’t continue to worr6 about what others think be it media, managers, clubs, or fans. Fuck them!
We are too nice on and off the field and that’s why we will always get beaten in these deals!

Now you sound like a spoiled brat because we missed out on two players for reasons you and I will never know unless the club or player will go public.

We can’t have any player we want. If we can’t we either switch or wait. All I care about is how our not so perfect planning panned out over the last 10 years. And it has been perfect result wise.

We clearly dont rate the player ffs
Mate, City have been perfectly planning for over a decade. I really get the feeling a lot on here, you included, are pissed off because we only signed one Jack Grealish.

We are not slow. We are different. And so far it has brought us fortune and silverware.

And no we do not need a left back as we actually have the best there is. With two back up options.

We could do with a CF. But only if the time and player are right. Ronaldo was someone passing by to wake up our noisy neighbours. I think a lot has been made of his home coming. Ronaldo to us would’ve been as debatable as Messi.

Again our board plans different and it has brought us where we are. Since 2011. It’s other teams that need to do the catch up. And even if they succeed it wouldn’t hurt me. That’s because our board has proven to deal with a temporary set back. Something a lot of our fans can’t handle these days.
We do things differently I agree but we can’t sugar coat the fact that we have missed the chance to really push forward his season by bringing in a top quality striker but instead we paid £100 million for an attacking midfielder to add to our already growing list of attacking midfielders . Not complaining about grealish because he will become a superstar with us but we should have tied the striker down first as you don’t let your greatest striker leave and not even bring in a replacement even though last season we needed one to cover kun . Khaldoon comes out pre season to give us the talk that we will replace him so no wonder everyone is excited. Time will tell whether we made the right decision or we fucked up but when the likes of Chelsea and Utd have really strengthened we have stood still and now we rely on 2 rookie strikers who could end being great and Jesus who prefers the wing now .

Why would they? They haven’t taken an established teams place, or a team that generates them millions shall we say. PSG doing what they’re doing is good for their brand. City being successful isn’t good as it means Liverpool or united arent, meaning less cash.
Spot on

As good as Serg as been for us he really didn’t contribute last year

The man is a legend who could never be replaced but we adapted last year and will do so again

So what have Chelsea and more so United won over the recent years? Chelsea the Chimps League at our expense. Shit happens. We should know this more than any other fan.

You have missed his point i think. The point isn't the players we missed, but the lack of planning in the face of such failures. He's exactly right too.

No good saying its our amazing planning being the reason we've been so successful...its largely down to pep who has managed a squad with obvious deficiencies to title wins. The squad recruitment side is whats potentially stopped us going even further. We are not nearly as well planned as what many like to believe and this summer has cemented that for me.

We'll be found out when pep leaves and a new manager is expacted to come up with solutions to cover our weaknesses in one or two positions.
