No it isn't.. going to the match is priority, anyone who would allow the mrs or anyone else, to make them miss a game for any reason is a sad wuss and not a proper blue.

took my 3 year old daughter to the fireworks display on the carpark behind city stadium last night. didn't know what time it would finish so expected to miss most of the match, worth it to see her enjoy herself. only missed 30 minutes of the match but i would have missed it all to make her happy

we are a great, loyal and passionate set of fans but we are not on our own.

the point i made about the film is that it was shown last night and i saw this thread today. it might have been here before but i haven't looked. it may be a coincidence but the timing of the thread seems to fit with the showing of the film last night.

i've watched half of it tonight and i've never seen it before. i was thinking during the film of how much city means to me. i constantly think about city and will get to games whenever i can but would never say that city means more to me than my kids. have you got any yourself?

my example may have been a bad one but you get the point i'm making. your lad comes home from school demanding £50 for a school trip but tickets for west ham away go on sale the same day. would you say to him "sorry son, i know you're mates are all going but you're not 'cos city are playing the hammers." ???

Unfortunately most women just don't get it and never will. After another bout of eye rolling and whinging when I told her I was watch City I sat the Mrs down and explained that City have been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I was obssessed before I met her, I am obsessed now, and no matter what happens in life this will never change.

I think she took it on board and understood the point I was making but it doesn't stop the general whinging vibe whenever I partake in any City related activity.

However, kids do come first and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get their priorities straight.

You missed half hr of the match to watch fireworks..? I'd have waited till bonfire night or one of the other numerous displays on a diff night.

Ex-girlfriend was like this with me. Whenever we were playing in Europe on a Thursday night I just used to say I was going out with my mum, because I knew that if I mentioned football she'd fly off the handle and do the usual:

- "Well what do you expect me to do while you're out?"
- "Is football more important than me?"
- "You talk about football with your friends more than you talk about me. Is something wrong?"

- "Would you rather go to football or spend time with me?"

Actually, I remember when she tried to ruin FA Cup final day for me. The night before May 14th, she told me she didn't know how she felt anymore, and that maybe a break was a good idea for us (think she did it to make sure I was thinking about her while at football). I said that I didn't think it was a good idea and I went to bed. It gets to Cup final day, City win the bloody thing and I don't think about her all day until she texts me: "I guess you don't need me for happiness anymore. You have football as well. Guess you're happier about that than you are with me."

Managed to briefly resolve it until she left me. Meh.

the fireworks were amazing and i think i can miss 30 minutes of city for my little girl. besides, i have moved our bonfire party to tomorrow night because city play late on saturday.
