Palermo have admitted that Manchester City have made them an offer for talented striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan youngster is hot property and has been linked with a variety of clubs in Italy and abroad.

It was thought that Napoli had made a bid to sign the forward, but President Maurizio Zamparini denied that claim by insisting interest had come from the Premiership.

“There has been no offer tabled from Napoli,” he said. “However, Manchester City and a few Russian sides have come forward.”

Palermo had previously insisted that Cavani was not for sale but a mega-million offer from the Manchester club could test their nerve.

Meanwhile, Zamparini also cooled speculation that a deal for Napoli’s Luca Cigarini has been wrapped up.

“It is far too early to formulate an offer for Cigarini,” he noted. “There is plenty of time remaining.”

GREAT striker, seen quite a lot of him! Watch him for Uruguay in WC folks ;)

It´s funny how when there is talk about Ibra, Torres, Gerrard etc everyone says that we should be going for future talent etc and when we are in for the likes of Milner, Cavani who are under 24 then everyone feels let down.
