OFFICIAL David Villa to Barca

The issue for English clubs will be the new 50% tax rate....

Players like Torres can transfer to Spain for the same weekly paypacket and earn loads more

We end up having to pay a fortune so that the tax will be paid

Barca want Villa before World Cup

The transfer fee agreed between the two clubs is around 45 million euros (55.48 million dollars), money which cash-strapped Valencia need in order to improve their dire financial situation.

Villa, 28, will sign a four-year contract with the Spanish champions after undergoing medical checks on Friday morning, then will be presented to the media as a Barca player on Friday evening.

Villa — who almost joined Real Madrid a year ago — was keen to resolve his future before going to South Africa to play for Spain the World Cup.

According to press reports, Barca’s next transfer target is Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Proof, if it were needed, that La Liga is way above us in terms of quality and prestige.

The trend will accelerate to show that the English Premier League is a feeder league to the Top Spanish clubs. Ronaldo to RM. Alonso to RM,
Van Nistelrooy to RM. Beckham to RM. Owen to RM. Henry to Barça, Fabregas to Barça (s/be finalised in the next 7/10 days).

The National team squad now looks to be even more impressive that the one that winn Euro 2008.

For the World Cup in 3 weeks time, Del Bosque has the following likely starting XI:-

-------------------------------Casillas--------------------------

Sergio Ramas-------- Pique---------------Puyol-----------Capdevila

-----------------------Xabi Alonso--------------------------------

-----Iniesta---------------------------Xavi----------Silva----------

----------------Villa----------------------Torres--------------------

Also in contention:-
Vivtor Valdes
Pepe Renia
Raul Albiol
Sergio Busquets
Marcos Senna
Cesc Fabregas
Javi Martinez
Juan Mata
Jesus Navas
Alvaro Negredo

I'm pretty sure Torres would return, as a previous poster has stated, if the right offer came along.

While I agree they are getting the upper hand again, La Liga's big problem is that it pretty much consists solely of two teams. Once Barca and RM have filled their boots, there will still be a lot of top, top players knocking around who have no interest in going to any of the other teams in Spain. As much as RM might try, they can't buy everyone.

Welcome to Manchester Zlatan

Are you so sure, I think we'll probably get him but do we really want him?!?

Admitedly he is far better than Ade but i'm not convinced he will set the Premiership alight!!!

Well Ade's strike ratio was certainly one of the best in the premiership... so If you thing Ibra is far better than Ade, then why do you think that?

Me personally, I don't think he's far better than Ade... very similar in ability.

Looks to me as though this home grown rule is kicking in not only here in England but also across Europe.

Barca target
Villa
Fabregas
Torres

They also lose interest in Ribery as have Madrid.

Can see other teams across the pond following suit.

This IMO means we won't be getting rid of Ireland, SWP, Onouha and why we are in for (rumoured) Milner, Young, Rodwell etc.
