The Article " Top Ten Reasons not to join man city"
Everyone else may have forgot, however i have been following this through as an official complaint, and after weeks of communication between The Chief Executive Office & myself , we have an official Statement.
i have now replied once again
Hi Dot
Thanks for your reply.
I have to say I think your arguments were unfair, unjustified, and although some papers were mocking Manchester City Football Club over the Kaka Affair, your article just took it too far, much too far. Me and many others didn’t find any other articles offensive, we took them in light humour, yours was just a vicious attack on our club, players, fans, and City as a whole.
Half the reasons in the article "Top Ten reasons not to join Man City" were related to the City of Manchester more than the Football Club, and therefore could of easily applied to Manchester United Football Club, however your glorious Journalism failed to mention these points, or attack their club.
We think your statement is pathetic to be quite honest, it doesn’t apologise for the content which was found unsuitable.
I must point out; your article was not just found offensive by supporters of Manchester City Football Club, but by Residents of Manchester and other journalists. Even our bitter rivals Manchester United found your article poor and pathetic.
Your statement is just another example of lazy journalism, you couldn't even be bothered to review the article properly, you just swiftly removed it due to the mass of complaints and put our a basic statement which didn’t even apologise.
There is currently a petition online, relating to your article, where people have promised not to use Virgin products ever again. This Petition currently has 4582 Signatures as of 3rd February 2009.
We look forward to your reply.

Hi Tom
I refer to your recent email to Sir Richard regarding an article on our Website that you found offensive. I'm sorry for the delayed reply, I've been waiting to hear back from our PR department. As all our articles are outsourced to a 3rd party journalist team, we have been waiting for their response which they have now supplied in the statement
below:
''Thank you for your recent email to Virgin Media about finding a feature on our website "offensive".
The points made in the article were editorially sound. As a sports news outlet, we stand by our right to put the arguments forward, which were not dissimilar to the points made by many other newspapers and commentators at the time.''
I realise this is a blanket response, however it wouldn't be prudent to respond to all the customers who contacted us on an individual basis as there were different aspects within the content of the article that some people found offensive and for different reasons. Although Virgin media do rely on our 3rd party to supply newsworthy articles, we are committed to ensuring the information content is correct and not offensive. Virgin Media are sorry you felt this was offensive.
Thanks for your patience with us and kind regards
