After we win the title I said our starting XI didn't need strengthening and that we just needed to add to the squad. We look to have added to the squad. However we have for rid of a vital squad player who is an essential starter in some situations in Nigel. Fucking bananas move by the club. We also lost a squad player in Johnson. It's not been a bad window, we've got a fit and firing Carlos back who is like a new signing which strengthens the starting XI. But we're not stronger squad-wise, which is what we needed to strengthen.

Still 24 hours and 31 minutes to go though.

We are terrible in the transfer market unless we are throwing irresistible fees at clubs. I can name the shrewd deals we've made on two fingers (Clichy, Vieira) since the takeover, and we've been bent over many times buying and selling. I still can't get over the Caicedo debacle, one man's incompetence robbed us of about £8million. People will say it's because we have money but bollocks, the right man can negotiate fair prices even with a "City tax" added on top while also getting good fees for the outgoings. Barcelona and Real Madrid have struck plenty of good deals are everyone knows they have money.

Can't wait for Soriano to get started with the revelation that he will be in charge of transfers, because he can't possibly do a worse job at the negotiating table than whoever is doing it now (is it acting CEO MacBeath or Marwood?). Whoever is in charge now is an absolute shambles. £3.5million for Nigel de Jong, I despair, I don't think there is a single Blue on these forums, which are rife with arguments at the moment, who thinks that is a good deal. 12 months left or not, good players go for far more than that with their contracts running down. We're paying double that for Scott Sinclair.
 
Been a City fan for a long time and you would not have dreamed what has happened in he last few years but hand on heart are we really a top 5 euro side with the squad at the moment?

We all want the momentum to carry us on to the next level but if the big spending days are over (no problem with that) then I think it will take a few more years to become a European big time club.
