We're from the Kippax Street and we are magnifique ....can't remember the rest.

We are the Kippax St
and we admire defeat
when it comes from the boys
who play in blue and white.
na na na na na na
na na na na na na (sang clapping hands together)

Always though it was abar defeat.
Never understood what it meant.

first verse of this was

The blues are here to stay
thats what the people say
weve got the best football team
the world has ever seen

also
we'll make Joe Mrcer king of England
we'll make Joe Mercer king of England
we'll make Joe Mecer king of England
and Georgie Best the queen

There's a one-off song I can remember. We were away at Sheffield United and the ref that day was the eccentric Roger Kirkpatrick [he of the famous 'Knees up Mother Brown' running style]. He was a ref we would all dread when we saw his name in the programme but on this occasion and in the first half, he was giving everything to City, much to our delight. But the second half was a complete turnaround and just about every decision went to the home team. It doesn't take long for someone in the crowd to dream up a new song that catches on straight away, but when the following ditty took off, it was sung with gusto from our fans...

"He's a bald headed b'stard dressed in black,
Dressed in black,
Dressed in black,
Dressed in black black, black".

Feels like bad taste posting this after Foe, but does anyone remember the "Let him die, Let him die, let him die" chant that used to be sang when the opponents physio came on to treat an injured player. Not so much diving in those days, but it was sang with particular gusto if there was any doubt about simulation.

Then there was the "can you run, can you run, can you run" chant often directed to the away fans the other side of the Kippax barrier fence.

Also to the tune of poor little sparrow
"he's only a poor little scouser,
his face is all tattered and torn
he mad me feel sick
so I hit him with a brick
and now he wont sing anymore"

If your standing on a corner
with a red scarf round your neck
City boys will come and get ya
And we'll break your f**kin neck!
na na na na na na na na na na na na na na

Sung to the liver liver birds tune

From the banks of the River Irwell to the shores of Sicily
We’ll fight fight fight for City to win the Football League
To Hell With Man United, To Hell With Liverpool
We’ll fight fight fight for City to win the Football League
We will stop on the banks of the Mersey on our way up to the top
The right will take the Stretford End and the left will take the Kop
We will hang Fitzpatrick by his balls and we’ll paint Old Trafford Blue
Then as we march down Wembley Way we will sing this song to you….
