Old Maine Road photos thread

I was an "Agent" in the late 1970's and sold tickets at work.

I can't even remember what they gave you for doing it. Sometimes I'd end up buying the cards myself, although they weren't scratch cards, but had a perforated edging which you peeled away to see what you'd won.

Anyone else sell these? A lifetime ago yikes.
I was an "Agent" too! I can't remember if we got 5% or 10% of the sales. My Mum won £500 on the Bingo. The Scratchcards, you would get a free ticket for the Main Stand by selling so many cards.

my mate used to sell them
iirc the club gave him 20 on tick.

he got a small cut/percentage but bought loads off himself, haha

one of the things they gave you for doing it was access to prime tickets.
i'd been to every home game and plenty of aways in 1980-81.
all the f.a.cup matches,
but when it came to the semi i couldn't get a ticket
yet he did despite not having a season ticket.

i had to listen to it in b+w on the wireless

In a few months it will be the 20th anniversary of the last minute Robbie Fowler miss and City finishing the game with two goalkeepers on the pitch.

Not only does that me feel old, but I also wonder how many of us have now seen more home games at the ETIHAD than Maine Road?

Obviously the younger supporters, but I'm 60 and nowadays we seem to have 25+ home games every season, whereas at Maine Road we needed to get relegated to have anywhere near that.
