Bikes and Bits Guide Bridge
Been there I'd say 42 years or so
There was a bigger motorcycle shop on the same road opposite the petrol station on Birch Street

My uncle had a shop called 'mac spares' back in the 80s.
I think it was in Royton or Failsworth.
This took me back! My two wheel adventures started in 1974 with a Lambretta LI150 (I've got an old GoldWing Aspencade and a VFR800 these days). I took the Lambretta to Macspares (it was in Failsworth) and was stunned when I was presented with a bill way over £30 when I went to collect it. I told him he could keep it because I couldn't afford to pay that! After a long list of things he'd replaced he agreed to swap some of then back (including new tyres back and front) and I got it back for around half the original price if I remember correctly but still with an MOT.

It's been on SORN for the last few years, needs a new front tyre, fuel system cleaning and a new battery but I haven't been in the best of health over the last couple of years and I'm not really strong enough to heave it around these days!

That's a fabulous bike mate, a real shame its not being used as its a proper mile muncher. Yeah I imagine they are a beast to move about. As I get older I find I'm riding my rd 350 a lot more than my litre bikes as its just so easy to manage a light bike.
Sorry to hear about your health problems mate, keep positive and thanks for posting the pic.
Take care bud
