We have to find a spot for him in this team. He should be more than just a 3rd choice LB.

if he got more playing time i really believe he would be hyped just as much as Frankie De Jong.

That's not a bad shout and comparison, they are quite similar in terms of physique and technique.

De Jong is about 4 inches taller and much more physical.

In fact they're not very similar at all IMO but I do like Zinchenko as a midfield option.

He's shorter, but i was talking in terms of his movement, pace and, where i disagree with you,his physicality.Zinchenko isnt afraid of getting stuck in,as he has proved on many occasion,i dont know what has made you believe otherwise.

We'll never fully know until he is deployed there.

You sure?

Yeah, De Jong looks slight but he's very strong on the ball and uses it. One of his Dutch teammates spoke out about it in the recent international break, he's deceptively strong, can't get pushed off the ball and you see it in his runs, where he will just brush people off or in his reception of the ball where he'll put his body between ball and opposition.

So glad we kept the lad now , he is showing he can play at the highest level , its just finding his best position when he features in the team , quite sure he could cover for Dinho and give our veteran a rest when needed.

Do you even think De Jong is better than Zinchenko? De Jong currently plays in a shite league, while Zinchenko plays out of position in one of the best teams in the world and doesn`t look out of place. De Jong looks like a great talent, but I`m sure Zinchenko would completely dominate in the Eredivisie if he played there

You know Zee played in the Ereduvisie before, right?

Frenkie De Jong is seen as a once in a generation talent who's being chased by every single big club in Europe - City included - and will likely go for north of 80m euros. Tje Dutch think he might be one of the best players they've produced in decades.

He walked into his international debut against France's world cup winning midfield and was the stand out player.

Yes. He is better than Zinchenko. That doesn't mean I dont like Zinchenko or that he's not good enough to play a squad role in midfield this season and beyond. Oleks did play in Eredivisie for a season by the way, and he did not set the world on fire.

I reckon Zee can play DM just fine. As I've been pointing out for years now, his defense was grossly underrated. He was labeled an attacking mid with flair and folks just assumed bad defense.

That said, I am continually amused by how people continue to try to find a better position for a player playing well at his current position.

Sure Zee can play multiple positions. But he doesn't need to be moved to a different position to 'show his true skill' as some like to say. He is already doing that exactly where he's at.

I agree that Frenkie is a huge talent, but 80m for having played one season in the Eredivisie? He did well for the national team against France, but that`s pretty much the only game in his whole career that could give an indication of his level

Rewind back to 2016.

"I agree that Mbappe is a huge talent, but €50m after playing 11 games in Ligue 1?"

There is a reason everyone wants him, just like with Mbappe, and like Monaco with Mbappe, there's a reason why Ajax were turning down 50m euro bids last summer that would have made him the most expensive Dutch player in history.

The kid is special and he's going to walk into one of the best teams in the world - probably replacing Busquets at Barcelona, hopefully at the base of our midfield. You only need to watch a couple of games to see he's just a different calibre of player to everyone around him.

And what indication did it give?

I have seen a couple games of him, and I agree that he is a great talent that has the potential to become a world class player, but so do Zinchenko in my opinion. If he replaced Frenkie in Ajax today, do you think he would do any worse?

I would say that Zinchenko today and Zinchenko 2 years ago are two completely different players.
Wrong! Many simply underrated and dismissed Zinchencko. Yes he has improved like and 20 year old will in 2 years. But nothing he is doing now is uniquely differently from what he was doing 2 years ago.

I think De Jong is a superior Midfielder. Even though I rate Zee highly. But there is lot of development to come. And either can become great. But FDJ looks more likely at present.
