Something I missed, Omar Berrada seems to have been promoted from Commercial Director to COO (chief operating officer) in September 2016. If this is a traditional COO role, it means that all business support functions, IT, Property, match ticketing, Security, Catering would be the responsibility of Mr Berrada. It's good imho that City have appointed someone to this position, it remains to be seen wether he will make a difference. At least we know now who to complain to about the crap website, queues for beer, ticketing screw ups, inappropriate security checks......

Never said it did mate. I think this is positive that there is one executive who is now responsible for these things. And I am supremely chilled thank you for asking.

and totally and completely necessary. Just get there 15 minutes earlier.

only if done properly, which they aren't. Either do airport style security and do it properly or don't bother, because half-hearted, lazy attempts at randomly picking blokes and scanning them and letting the women go through unscanned (because there's never ever been a female suicide bomber) just makes a mockery and makes it a) easy for someone bad to get in if they want and b) gives them lovely queues to blow up outside if they fancy it anyway.

So basically the club now give us 2 unsafe places to get blown up whereas before at least you could get through the turnstiles quickly enough to be low risk, and take your chances inside. Now, you're a prime target outside unless you give up your day and don't get stuck in traffic to get there early enough to be fortunate enough to avoid a queue, and then because the checks are so poor and lazy anyway you've still got pretty much the same chance of being blown up inside.

After the MEN you'd hope they'd sort it, but they've made no noises that they have.

That's why I posted this. How the club is run from an operational perspective is so important to all of us. We have a world class squad, probably the best coach in the world, best academy, best football business model. There is no reason why the operations can't match those standards and at the moment they don't. This guy Omar should be responsible for doing that. Let's see this season if there is a noticible improvement evident.
