Omar Berrada to the rags

There’s a couple of scenarios to consider here:
Worst case, there’s a shit storm coming, extremely unlikely.
He’s had an offer he couldn’t refuse, it’s all about the money.
We’ve found someone better, he was about to be released, so resigned, which I’m going with

I have no doubt Khaldoon will have tried to intervene to retain him.

Bingo. Do you not think we could have matched or exceeded whatever financial offer they made him. Even with a position/title do you not think we couldn't offer him progress or opportunities within the group?

If he is leaving, the club will be totally ok with it.

It’s a promotion as well isn’t it? A lot of people hoping it’s the 115 charges though….

correct. The poster knows nothing

Smart long game move by the rags. Hiring Berrada with the brief to build a 3-5 year strategy based on the City blueprint. They will hope that will start to pay dividends as Pep's era comes to an end.

They might be assuming that we will stand still whilst that happens. Which of course we won't.

In all seriousness, it’s an understandable move for Berrada - he came over from Barca a decade ago and has been a big part of the team who took the club to the top of football, but it will always be seen externally as Txiki and Sorriano’s ‘team’.

Now that the job is complete, he can move across town, and try to build his own version in the top job.

For any lurking United fans:

Your downfall has been fantastic to watch, your squad, staff and whole organization is shit beyond belief and it will take several more years of your life before before you will see the fruits of any good recruitment at boardroom level. And even then we are ignoring the likely fact that he is just another decent executive you hire primarily to fill the pockets of your beloved owners while your shithole of a stadium falls apart

Ban this idiot!
I'm not flapping. It's only natural to put one and two together, anyway.

As others have said, let's hope it is all down to financial and job title/responsibilities incentives versus the alternative.
