On the site of the Etihad in the past - and pictures of olde Manchester

My 2 nephews who grew up near the stadium used to play football on the site before it was built. A MEN reporter turned up one day and took a few pics of them having a kick about in their City kits and the MEN ran a story about how this piece of land could be the site for the commonwealth games and potentially the new home of Manchester City. I've still got the picture up in a shoebox in the loft (I think) I was wondering if if be able to track it down online in the archives maybe?

Your best bet is to go into Central library in town they have every copy of the MEN on reels. At least they used to.

Back in 1999 when I first started working on the stadium i walked the whole site and did a full photographic survey of the entire stadium site! Is amazing to see how much has changed in 17 years.
