On this day - a million on the streets

there is a book i have by Philip Neale about the 1936/37 season when we won the league,
called "who said city couldnt play ".
I recall the song being sung by the crowd at the City end at Wembley following the FA Cup Final in 1956, along with the chant of “Where’s Henry Rose? “ after he had predicted a 3-0 victory for Birmingham in that morning’s Daily Express.

We all know that some who support City’s rivals (both fans and those who write professionally in a negative manner about City) try to downplay our history. So today is a day we should highlight over and over again. I’m not someone who believes we should focus on activities for decades ago but I do believe we should challenge those that try to ridicule us or say we have no history.

So on this day in 1934 it was claimed City had a million fans on the streets welcoming the club back with the FA Cup. Full story and film here (The latest free article on my website):

I‘m sure it may surprise those who believe football history is all about certain clubs, who were successful during a period when we endured our worst ever period.
Thanks for posting Gary, I just laugh & walk away if anyone says we have no history, if they are really that stupid its not worth the effort :-)

"History" means since the PL began for those who spout it except where their own successes are concerned. It's as boring as the empty seats nonsense as we have a long and proud history of record creating; good and bad!
Ahhh, but it doesn't!

Dippers have hardly any PL history and have only challenged the last few years except for the odd season.

The narrative is made up as we go along to emphasise certain Club's history but disregard everyone else's.

It's all bullshit to appeal to Dippers & Rags.

Indeed!

I say this a lot, but feel like the club tends to downplay our history as well, or they certainly don’t promote it like they should.
