Mr Les Broderick was my English teacher when I was at primary school in Amanzimtoti, Natal in South Africa when I was growing up in the late 70's.
I will always rember him as an honnest and fair man. Little did I know at the time how much of a genuine legend /hero he really was in any sense of the word.
R.I.P Sir.

It is a shame that that generation is nearly gone, my gran, who helped build Lancaster bombers, passed away a couple of years ago.

80 years ago today. My Granddad was in Stalag Luft 3 though not involved in the Escape - he was moved there later
