is it the most versatile vegetable ever?

you can put it anything. perhaps apart from ice cream

they make grown men cry

they also get rid of unwanted attention from women. although i'm beginning to wonder as that happens even without onions.

i love you onion. you are a king amongst vegetables.

Potatoes are usually too irregular in shape to be used as an emergency replacement cricket ball, whilst an onion is ideal for such a use. An onion was in fact used as a ball for much of the fifth day of the Third Test of New Zealand v England in the famous 'Vegetable Series' of 1954-55. The match was abandoned as a draw shortly after tea when it was discovered that the umpires had inadvertantly consumed the ball in their cheese sandwiches. Earlier in the series the MCC had ruled that turnips were ineligible for use but that the century scored by Denis Compton using a large stick of celery could be deemed first class.

Potatoes win, anyone ever heard of an onion famine?

Personally I dont eat onions often, I wouldnt have them on a burger for instance but I do like the taste of food cooked with onions (weird). I do however like the onions you get with popadums at indian restaurants.
