Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

I think there definitely is an element of our support that sees anyone who isn't historically a city fan as a problem. 99.9% won't be down to racist or xenophobic sentiment but more likely due to the fact they know plenty of mates that are priced out

Tourists who wear the club colours of who we're playing, fall over themselves to film Salah celebrating we should just call them what they are - away fans. And them being in our seats IS a problem

And I'd hope that people aren't doing this intentionally, but conflating the above with City fans from outside the UK or non-blues who don't take the piss and do some research on etiquette is dangerous and from my reading, only a few on here doing that, it isn't 1894

But surely those Leeds fans wouldn't jump up and film the away fans celebrations? They've nothing to worry about if they follow etiquette
There were Leeds fans in the family stand taking liberties just after Covid and splashing their videos across social media. I told them they wouldn’t get away with it in some other parts of the ground.

That element would probably see you as a tourist if you are from Coventry? It’s not all about race. You come across as a diehard Blue to me and I know a few Blues from Leicester who are equally passionate about City.

Some of the Blues I know who refer to tourists the most are from North Yorkshire.

Slightly off subject but comedically relevant

Ex PSG player Jeremy Menez was ejected from the home end at Anfield after 70 minutes for apparently showing too much support for Liverpool's opponents
According to his mate Samir Nasri, a steward had approached Menez and asked "Are you French?"

Menez was then escorted from the premises but the home fans were too busy hurling abuse to notice the Evertonian Frenchman Idrissa Gueye a couple of rows back and filming everything on his mobile

Gave me a proper chuckle that

You're spot on, but I would add that it's extremely rare in English football (as opposed to cricket or rugby) to applaud the opposition.

Indeed, it's so rare that I could easily recall the 3-4 occasions when I've witnessed City fans acting out of character

In contrast I remember sitting on a train en route to Stamford Bridge (the one when De Bruyne scored the only goal) and being surrounded by NFL shirts of every team, all of them Wembley bound for the NFL weekend, even though most of their teams weren't playing.

The legacy fans of every PL club have always recognised the difference, but the arrival of the new breed of football fan has diluted the tribal tension and seems to be creating a different kind of conflict where we ignore the 3,000 away fans and vent our spleen at the 10 supporters with weird accents in the home end

Arsenal at Maine Road when they went about 4-0 up in the first half, might have been the invincible season. I actually can't think of any others than that. Half the crowd booed us, half of them clapped them.

Arsenal’s team clapped off at half time at Maine Road when they drubbed us 5-0 with Paddy V running the show.

Ruud Gullit going off as a sub and running the show for Chelsea also at Maine Road.

Andros Townsend for that goal for Palace.

I was one of a few but I gave a short clap to Rooney for that shinned over head kick. I was directly inline with it as it arrowed towards me in the away end.

Bayern Munich at home in the champs league when they played us of the pitch. Their best players were applauded off when substituted
