Waited in all morning for an engineer to rock up to install FTTP. Appointment was confirmed by Talktalk and two days later by Openreach (today 0800-1300)

No one turned up, no message to say running late, nothing.

There is no way of speaking to Openreach direct to ask for an explanation/update

How do they get away with this kind of customer support

Used to do Broadband support for an ISP (not BT - and we used BT infrastructure as well as our own unbundling in some exchanges). If you've gone through TalkTalk, then TalkTalk will need to rebook with BT Openreach for you. BT will see you as TalkTalk's customer and not theirs. They won't give you any info at all, mate.

Send an invoice for 5 hours at your hourly rate to the CEO with 28 days to pay.

Cheers bud. Talk talk are equally as difficult to contact but I stuck it out waiting on the phone and eventually got through to their FTTP customer support team

They managed to contact Openreach who apologised for not making it this morning, and failing to let us know. They said they are running late, but still hope to make it today.

If they don't come today, I will have to rebook another appointment, which could be another two week delay.

Have you any idea how long the engineer would take to run fibre from the telegraph pole and install into the house?

Talktalk do loads of advertising and people who have had it few years back say it crap and when things go wrong you can’t get anyone on the phone or around to sort it!
