Visited Normandy on the 50th anniversary and got chatting to a veteran,great bloke denied any heroics though had nothing but praise for the courage of a young French teenage girl who whilst they were sheltering from fire behind a wall came with a tray of drinks.
He stayed in touch with the family and went back every year and stayed with them.
Top bloke who I was happy to buy a few drinks for,but visiting the cemetery's and see the young ages of so many couldn't help but bring a tear to your eye.

Watching a programme on Hulu called D-Day The Untold Stories. Lots of men telling very emotional tales of the landings, very good film clips, some in colour.
