Opposition fans forum pre/post match chat ?

What's funny is years ago on footy forums I would state I was a city fan and rarely got any notice... Literally ignored.
No spiteful comments or positive comments, just irrelevant.

Now I could go on the same forums, post similar views about my club and I'm bombarded with outright bitterness, negative views and I certainly am noticed.

It would be good if opposition fans came on and we were all able to discuss things sensibly and rationally, but it rarely works out like that. It's an emotive sport, and people get tribal.

Many opposition fans that register are on the wum, and those that aren't tend to get hounded if they say anything even slightly uncomplimentary about the club. It's a shame, but it's the same on pretty much all football forums. The only ones who survive for any length of time tend to be subservient types like that City fan on Red Cafe.

Squirtyflower banned me for saying 'amazeballs'

oh, I just said it again.

They think that cos we were only formed in 2008 remember! ? ; )

I work all over UK and often chat footy with supporters of different clubs. Some seem a bit bitter and jealous of our new found wealth, but many of the older guys know the yo yo seasons of yesteryear we went through, and acknowledge City supporters as genuine and also say that City is THE true Manchester club..... Meanwhile, the ubiquitous Manure 'supporting' out of town rags are a nightmare to talk football with. But most have hardly been or never been to prawn triffid, and they hate it when I quip -"call yourself a united supporter, I've been to old Trafford more than you!"...

There is already a website with a forum for each team on it. Football mad it is called, there are a few on here who have used it in the past. As someone else predicted above it just decended into stupid comments again and again. Funny enough pre takeover we were receiving messages from fans of other clubs wishing us well week in week out. Post takeover it changed pretty much straightaway and we had to constantly defend ourselves every day. The only set of fans who remained true were West Ham.
The city forum is now pretty much dead on there due to idiots but if you want some pre match banter some clubs use it as their main forum.

Slightly off topic (only slightly) we do have opposition fans who post on here and some of them have been really good posters strangely enough the Spurs fans have been great they don't stray into the main part of the forum but stick to the General Section, we have decent Liverpool and Everton fans as well who post on a regular basis, we used to have a really decent United fan once. The few times I have ever joined another teams forum I have tried to keep away from the main sections and stick to the General Sections, we all see things from our own clubs perspective
