Kiss the badge... kiss my arse
Whats the best wage you can earn before silly tax comes into play? i was talking to a fella who earned almost twice as much as me and we worked out that his take home wasn't THAT much more than mine, now admittedly, he could afford to pay a pension and 200 went out of his wage on that, i have never had that luxury. but i got thinking, i wonder what the optimum wage is for take home vrs responsibility, i recon once you get in to the late £20's a company pretty much wants your arse, i am comfortably in the mid £20's my life is my own still and i dont bring home that much less than a bloke who earns 45k per year..... can chasing the big bucks end up not what you would expect? is all that glitters not necessarily gold as the old adage says?

towards the bottom of that page is a good indicator

Theres quite a big difference between 45k and 25k

45k = £2738
25k = £1597

Ok the 45k guy may put his money into different investments, pensions, ISA's, bigger mortgage, bigger bills etc but the bottom line is £2738 is his take home pay which can do with as he chooses.

But you are right it's no good earning the cash if you can't enjoy it because you are always at work.
