General Secretary’s Report:

Kevin said he had been in touch with the editor of the Pocket Book series with a view to issuing the one for Manchester with OSC details – these would be FOC to OSC members and could be sent out with membership cards. They’ve offered to do an OSC newsletter with a videoclip and eventually have this sponsored although this would be free to the OSC. The first one is almost complete and is about Paul Lake, his life, career & charity efforts – branches were asked to submit their members’ e-mail addresses so that this could be mailed directly although it was suggested that the members be consulted first as to whether they wished their mail address to be forwarded – feedback would be useful. It was felt that if we were able to gain sponsorship for this project then more sponsorship might be forthcoming re the website.

Arnie from Bredbury gave a quick update on the recent meeting re away fans and the possibility of moving them to the East Stand uprooting seasoncard holders as had been mentioned a few months ago. It was felt this would have an impact on Cup tickets and the safety officers rejected it. Blue Moon had run a poll suggested that 55% v 45% in favour of the move although everything would remain as it stands now. It was mentioned that there are NO moves to purchase the ground.

Moved: Warrington Seconded : Baguley

Paul Lake – Paul thanked everyone for the invitation and went on to to talk about his charity Jumpspace which aims to give children with autism & other special needs somewhere to be able to play and also somewhere where they can be looked after by fully qualified carers which will, in turn, give their familes some much needed breathing space to do something for themselves and also give more attention to other children in the family. They have currently two sites in Didsbury & Bramhall and a prospective site in Hazel Grove.

Paul begins his new role as a City Ambassador on 1 March and hopes to be able to set up something at the Club which could eventually lead to away fans being able to use the facilities which could see us as “trendsetters” for such a project. Paul concluded by saying he was more than happy to attend any branch functions and hoped that branches would be able to help with fundraising.

Paul also advised that his book will be out in 2011 on a nationwide basis.

The Chairman thanked Paul for attending.

There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.10pm

Next Meeting : 9 March at 7pm

Delegates Attending: London, Baguley & Brooklands, Bolton, Warrington, Cheadle, Northenden, Wythenshawe, Stretford, Dukinfield, Chorley, Gorton, Woodside, Piccadilly, Hazel Grove, Mossley, Denton, Didsbury & Chesterfield
