At 31 ( I think) and seemingly unsettled, it would seem the right time to sell if possible. With the profile of the squad looking at younger players, Ruben Dias would be a cracking option to come in this summer? It’s going to be a big year for stones imo as pep didn’t seem to trust him too much in the second part of last season? I know he had personal issues but so did walker and he still got picked?

Doubt this is true but, there are players everywhere who are desperate to get out of where they are but consider a pay cut from £xxM a year and suddenly they aren't quite as keen to go.

Imagine Otamendi will stay another year and be allowed to depart for Valencia next summer at a lower price. He’ll only get a satisfactory salary if Valencia don’t have to pay full whack on a transfer fee, and I cannot see us being immediately obliging so close to the season starting.
