Our attendance record is under threat

Someone write to the police covering the game and ask for the actual number of people through the door.

Will be lower than the tickets sold figure ;)

Not that it matters but when we set the record they probably wouldn't have had tickets they figure would of had come off the turn styles ,so a more accurate figuare

Our record is the highest in England outside of wembley. I thought everybody knew that.

Its actually never been that. The old FA Cup Final venue at Crystal Palace (where the athletics stadium is now) twice held 100.000 plus before the First World War for cup finals.

In reality its reckoned that there were 90,000 - 95,000 actually there and a similar figure at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea went over 80,000.

We all know from the Charlton game that offical attendances can be, shall we say, misleading!

Quick question for @Gary James
Our record home attendance is 84,467 on some sources and 84,569 on others (including on BM). Which is correct?
Our attendance record has never been 84,467, it's always been 84,569 (some reports back in 1934 had a typo - 84,568). Those who show it as 84,467 have clearly not done their research.

84,569 - still a record for a competitive crowd on a League club ground.
