Our biggest ever game?

I would say in terms of anticipation, it was United in 2012 because a win put us in pole position for the title and it seemed like the point where we took over from United as the pre-eminent club. The build up to that game was like nothing before or since. In retrospect the biggest was the QPR game but at the time we expected to win that quite easily so in the run up to the game, it didn't seem quite as big. Tomorrow's is a big game but if we lose it's not the end of the world. Losing to United or QPR in 2012 would have seemed like it and losing to Gillingham in '99 might well have been.
Good post.

The United 1-0 the year we won the PL, that got the ball rolling, atmosphere was the best since the Hamburg game-tense wasn't the word!

been plenty of big games that warrant a mention for different reasons.

the tide turned when we beat them in that game.

I agree. We truly knocked them off their perch that day.

(That we haven't advanced much since is such a pity)

I think we need to separate "biggest game" and "most important game". In terms of the CL being the major European club competition then tomorrow is City's biggest game in terms of stature. However it's a long way from being the most important, Vienna, Gillingham, QPR, etc are well ahead in importance.

Did you go to any of those match's ?
Cant remember if I gave you your spends that week

Our most high profile game in Europe ever I would imagine.

The CL final would be one of our biggest. This QF isn't our biggest. We've had cup finals, huge league games and of course the Cup Winners' Cup final all bigger than this.

This is a massive game - massive by the number of people in Europe and around the world that will be watching (i.e. brand recognition).
How many neutral fans are out there in the world that may become City fans tomorrow if the squad puts in one of "those" special performances?
Massive game (imo)

I don't think anyone is saying it isn't massive. Just how massive is massive on a scale of massiveness?
