Our biggest ever game?

If you look at the development of the club since the takeover, then you'd have to say in terms of profile this is the biggest game we've been involved in. QPR obviously isn't far behind.
I wonder if the QPR game would have been as significant if we'd steamrollered them. Zabaleta gets the first, we get a second early in the second half then 2 or 3 more.

Obviously winning our first Premier league title was hugely significant but was it the means rather than the end which made it so much more so?

Two games since the takeover that stand out for me are the FA Cup semi final against the rags, where we really established our superiority over them for the first time. Then 4 weeks later we beat Spurs 1-0 to get a CL spot for the first time.

Gillingham was obviously important but I reckon the three consecutive away games we won in 2006/7 (Boro, Newcastle & Fulham) were so important to us. Our financial situation was poor at that point and had we only got 5 points out of those games rather than 9, we'd have been relegated. That would have almost certainly meant no Thaksin and possibly financial disaster.

The outcome might well have been that the Supporters Trust would have got hold of Sky's shares and allied with Bernstein, Franny Lee and possibly Mark Boler. There would have been nasty boardroom battles as both Bernstein and Lee were looking to settle some old scores.

The 1-0 win at Newcastle on March 31st made sure we avoided relegation following the 2-0 win at Boro two weeks earlier and saved us from all that.

We have had so many defining matches in our History of our club, and no doubt, Gary James would inform us of so many more than has already been mentioned.
Tonight is a vital stepping stone for us to break a seal on somewhere we haven't been as a club which gives it its significance, however, it will not define us or change our destiny. With whats coming to us in the future, new manager, better players etc, it will only be a matter of time to get to win the Champs league. The Gillingham win plugged a massive hole we were sliding into as a club. It was the kick back up that was necessary that if we hadn't of won, well who knows where we would be today.
Tonight is a big game for its own reasons but it won't change our destiny.

If biggest means what got the most media attention and the biggest worldwide TV audience, it was the 1-0 derby in 2012.

In terms of the magnitude and glamour of the occasion yes this is our biggest

You can't beat the razzmatazz of a potential semi final of the champions league.. Doesn't get much bigger than that 1 game from the holy grail and immortality !!

If biggest means causing most butterflies in stomach then yes this game. QPR was already a given (!), CL is the stage where we need to do well and prove the knockers wrong
I'm the opposite, don't have any butterflies, if we win great, if we don't we've been knocked out of a cup, it's happened many times before and I'll soon forget it.

Same here.
Was much more nervous before the 2012 derby and the 2014 red dipper game when we thought the winner would go on to win the title.
